Blossom!

A collaboration with National Trust Quarry Bank and the Seashell Trust

This spring I had the delight and privilege of working with students from Seashell college to explore the beauty of blossom. Commissioned by the National Trust as part of their annual blossom celebration, I collaborated with Quarry Bank to create an exhibition of the students artwork.

Seashell Trust is a charity in Greater Manchester that provides education and support for children, young people and adults with sensory impairment, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and profound communication difficulties.

Throughout spring we have enjoyed drawing, writing poems, making marks in response to textures, colours and emotions stirred by blossom.

The students especially enjoyed screen printing, painting and potato printing with inks onto calico, spun and woven for our project at Quarry Bank mill.
